Sage & Pat’s Wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn

I first met Sage & Pat in 2024 while photographing their friend’s wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. While I didn’t know it then, two years later, they would hire me to photograph their own wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn!

The couple and I met earlier this spring for their engagement session near their apartment on the Upper West Side. We visited the garden from You’ve Got Mail in Riverside Park, stopped by a few brownstones along the way, and eventually ended their session in Central Park, a place they enjoy visiting together. Their wedding venue, Liberty Warehouse, offered a unique and different perspective on New York City, the place they call home. Drawn to the industrial feel, waterfront views, and large doors Liberty Warehouse is known for, the couple knew it was the perfect place to host their wedding.

Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Drinks in Tribeca

For their rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks the evening before, they chose Locanda Verde, a restaurant known for its rustic atmosphere and delicious Italian food, attached to The Greenwich Hotel. I joined the couple before their guests arrived for a few portraits around the neighborhood. Sage’s butter-yellow dress and red shoes went perfectly with the cobblestone streets and impeccable evening light.

Wedding Day at Liberty Warehouse

The following day, I joined them in Red Hook, Brooklyn, for their wedding. While the guys got ready at Gild Hall in FiDi, the girls got ready in the loft space at their venue, Liberty Warehouse. Although the couple did not have a traditional wedding party, they chose to spend the morning getting ready with their closest family and friends in their respective suites. Willow House Beauty, one of my favorite hair and makeup artists in New York City, did everyone’s hair and makeup. Sage opted for a low bun, which perfectly complemented her off-the-shoulder lace dress. In keeping with the black-tie dress code, Pat wore a fitted black tux and bow tie.

First Look, Portraits, and their Waterfront Ceremony

Before the ceremony, the couple and I explored Liberty Warehouse and the surrounding area for their Red Hook wedding photos before they shared private vows on the venue’s balcony. Their ceremony took place under a chuppah surrounded by florals designed by Love Laura. As they exchanged rings, the late afternoon sun perfectly illuminated the altar.

Cocktail Hour & Reception at Liberty Warehouse

It was now time for cocktail hour, one of my favorite parts of a wedding day! Cocktail hour took place outside on the patio of Liberty Warehouse, where guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and signature drinks with Lady Liberty off in the distance. The waterfront setting and views of the New York Harbor made for the perfect backdrop as guests mingled before heading inside for the reception.

The newlyweds were introduced and shared their first dance before The Cool Rulers kicked off the first dance set of the night. Later in the evening, Sage & Pat cut their wedding cake before heading back to the dance floor with their guests.

From their rehearsal dinner in Tribeca to their wedding at Liberty Warehouse, it was such a pleasure documenting Sage & Pat’s weekend. After first meeting them at a wedding two years earlier, it was fun to come full circle and photograph a wedding of their own.
