Popular Session Locations

There are so many places in New York to shoot! However, here are some of the most popular places amongst my clients.

West Village:

It’s popular for its brownstones, cute cafes, and picturesque streets. It’s a great place for photos, especially if it has special significance to you and your partner. If you are looking specifically for brownstones, I suggest shooting in Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights instead! It’s arguably more beautiful, the brownstones are bigger, and it is 10 times quieter!

East Village:

EV is such a great spot for couples looking for an edgier place to shoot. There is so much to explore. This is not the spot to go if you are looking for brownstones or something elegant.

Park Slope:

Park Slope is becoming one of my favorite places to shoot. It has amazing brownstones and cute cafes, and it’s in close proximity to Prospect Park. I think this location is even better than Central Park due to how quiet and relaxing it is.

Prospect Park

Located near Park Slope, Prospect Park is the quieter alternative to Central Park!

Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill:

Just like Park Slope, BK Heights is another fabulous place to shoot. You will get brownstones and cobblestone streets, and it’s quiet! You can even get skyline views on the promenade.

Central Park:

Central Park is an iconic spot in New York and a great spot for engagement photos. Please note, that Central Park is a very busy spot. If you want to shoot here, you will want to do an early morning session.

The MET:

I have been to the MET a few times for sessions and it’s just as breathtaking each time. While there are no permit fees for the MET, this is not a location where you will be running around and doing elaborate poses. Additionally, no flash photography is allowed. When shooting at the MET, I take an extra documentary approach. It will mostly be me following you two around with minimal posing involved. We must respect the other patrons or we will be asked to leave.

Chinatown:

Chinatown is a fantastic spot for couples looking for a non-traditional location! I think the location & imagery speaks for itself. It’s fairly busy but mostly with locals who live there.
